Great Falls Tribune: In March or April, The Discovery Channel will air a re-creation of a jousting
match with museum-grade armor and weapon
reproductions.
A man from Northshield was one of four contenders for the honor of the tournament and the heart of a fair maiden in this
re-creation of a tournament jousting match at Pembroke Castle in England. The armor weighed in excess of 110 pounds (55 kilograms),
but the combatants report that it was surprisingly agile when actually worn.
Daniel Wirth, from Northshield, competed against a Washington DC police officer and two British contenders for the favor of the
attending ladies. The tournament was held in Wales, England.
Exact dates and times when the documentary will air have not been published as of this writing, but it will be some time in March
or April, according to the article.
