Headless Romans Stump Experts

Archaeologists working on a Roman cemetery in the Mount area of York are baffled at the discovery of 36 decapitated bodies.

The remains were part of a burial site that included 49 bodies of young men and children. The 36 decapitated bodies were of the men, and one had been shackled. Archaeologists are puzzled because the Romans had no traditions of decapitation.
