Gold torc found in Nottinghamshire farmer's field

A Newark (England) farmer equipped with a metal detector has uncovered an exquisite solid gold torc worth a small fortune.

Maurice Richardson is a self-employed tree surgeon who uses a metal detector as a hobby. When he found the torc, he at first thought it was scrap metal. Authorities at the British Museum and elsewhere say the torc may be worth up to UK £100,000.
