Times: Author claims St. Patrick took bribes from Christian converts

In his book Secret Sights II: Unknown Medieval Ireland, author Rob Vance accuses St. Patrick of taking bribes from his wealthy female patrons.

While researching his book, Vance discovered that Ireland's patron saint was reprimanded by church authorities for accepting trinkets from wealthy female converts.

"He was essentially accused of taking bribes," said Vance. "He would convert the women using stories of Jesus Christ and they would come back and leave jewels on the altar for him."
