Remains of Cape Cod Explorer to be Verified

Researchers are hoping that DNA tests will confirm the identity of Capt. Bartholomew Gosnold, privateer, explorer and namer of Cape Cod.

A team of experts is seeking to identify the remains, buried in Jamestown, Virginia, conclusively as those of Capt. Gosnold by linking them to surviving relatives. Gosnold was a founder of the Jamestown colony and died there in 1607.
