The Shire of the Two Seas happily offers an opportunity to get started, be it in general or on a special topic.
The Newbie Academy will offer classes and workshops for beginners. Topics are Basic Shoemaking, Machine Sewing, Calligraphy, Heraldry, Garb History, Armoring, Embroidery, Tabletweaving and some more. We will teach you the basic skills in order to encourage and inspire you to do your own projects with confidence.
And in case you want to read about the classes your friends attended and liked: every attendee will get an Academy Manual which contains all the handouts. This Manual will only be available at the event and will include a dictionary of frequently used terms in the SCA.
To avoid distraction for our heavy fighters we have decided not to run any combat activities. This is your chance to improve your kit, guys!
Many thanks to our neighbour shire Aventiure that we can hold this event in the District of Stormarn and to the Shire of Polderslot for allowing us to hold our event at the same time as their own Cooking Event.
The event will take place from the 15th to 17th of April 2005 at the Jugendheim Lichtensee, Moorweg 4, 22955 Hoisdorf
The site is located 1 hour from the heart of Hamburg. It will open at 6pm on Friday 15th and closes on Sunday morning at 10. You can either sleep in one of the bedrooms or bring your tent and camp. Unfortunately, we cannot provide crash space due to site restrictions. The site is discretly wet. Open fire is possible at the fire-pit.
If you need information about hotels or other, please contact the Event Stewards.
The site can be reached by public transport, but a pickup from the airport or central train station can be arranged as well.
The site fee is 38,50 Euro (if you bring a tent 20,50 Euro). Lunch is provided by the site staff for 5 Euro, and feast is 6 Euro.
Our website http://www.two-seas.de/academy will air on February third and will give you the directions to Hoisdorf as well as a registration form for your convenience. Participation is limited to 50 people, so please make your reservations in time! The reservation deadline is April 3rd, 2005.
We are looking forward to welcome you at this event!
