Archaeologists excavating a 15th century ship in Newport, Wales have unearthed
human remains.
Curioser and curioser. The saga of the Newport medeival ship continues to
spark interest around the world. On December 12, 2002, excavators discovered
two ancient leg bones at the site on the River Usk. "It's possible that these
bones are the result of some kind of accident," said Adam Yates of the
Archaeological Trust. The bones belong to a grown man and were found
underneath the ship. The bones have been removed for carbon dating.
