Ultra-orthodox Jews were concerned that the remains discovered at the site might be mishandled, but were relieved to learn that the cemetery was Roman. Among the finds was the tomb of Legionnaire Olfius Martinos, of the Seventh Claudian Legion, marked by a marble monument.
