The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York will present a workshop,
"Masterpieces in the Art of Metalworking," January 19, 2003.
If anyone thinks that armoring is not an art (or a science, as the case may
be), they should pay a visit to the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York
City. January 19, 2003, the Museum will offer a workshop covering the symbolism
and techniques of elite armor in several cultures. Rare pieces will be
displayed and class activities and materials will be provided. The fee for the
class is $75.
On December 28, the Museum will also offer a Gallery Talk on "Arms and Armor,"
at 7:00 pm. The cost is included in the price of Museum admission. In addition,
there will be a special display of armor through June 29, 2003, including rare
and significant pieces which the Museum has purchased.
