Chedworth Roman Villa Receives Sandford Award

The Chedworth Roman Villa in Gloucestershire, England has been awarded the prestigious Sandford Award for the excellent quality of its eductional program and administrative management.

The villa is visited annually by over 9,000 schoolchildren and is considered a key partner in England's classical education.

Judges presented the award because the site “offered the visitor insights into the manner in which the leading Romano-Britons of the first four centuries AD were influenced by the Roman occupation.
