NYPL makes digital public domain materials fully downloadable

The New York Public Library has made all of their digital public domain materials, including the Digital Scriptorum, downloadable in high resolution without jumping through any permissions hoops.

All materials are now easily browseable, and once you are within a particular category, a "Filters" tab near the left side of the page allows a checkbox option to show only materials that are in the public domain. The category "Medieval and Renaissance Illustrated Manuscripts" lists over 1500 digitized pages with the public domain filter enabled -- a tremendous resource for SCA scholars.

There is also a large category of historical atlases and maps, and several categories related to the natural sciences.
