"Unscripted and candid" at the Canterbury Renaissance Faire

In July 2014, the Canterbury Renaissance Faire opened its gates in Silverton, Oregon. Saerom Yoo, of the Statesman Journal, visited the faire and spoke with some of its participants. (photos)

"For children, there are colorful costumes, trinkets, jugglers and jousting. For the adults, there's the Shakespearan dialogue that is peppered with raunchy innuendos," Yoo writes.

Attendees Nick Killian and John Wright spoke of their interest in Renaissance faires. "It's a unique opportunity to act unscripted and candidly," Killian said.
