Jerry Boone of The Oregonian recently learned about re-creating medieval history and becoming a "living resource" from Vikki Cauldwell, Baroness of Dragon’s Mist in the SCA Kingdom of An Tir, as she prepared for Faire in the Grove. (photos)
Cauldwell spoke about the event and the SCA in general where "members often are asked to appear at schools, before scout troops, and in front of other organizations to help teach European history in a manner more compelling than a textbook or web page. They become living resources, complete with swords and robes, crowns and armor."
Other SCA members discussed crafts to be presented at the event including pie baking and cheese making.
