Hadrian's Wall Trust is no more

Over the next six months, the Hadrian's Wall Trust, the charity that maintains the famous Roman wall crossing northern England, will be closed due to "significant financial constraints." In the future, the wall will be maintained by English Heritage and local authorities.

"Tourists, visitors, businesses and local people should rest assured that Hadrian's Wall is in good hands and that all the partners involved understand and appreciate its rich and famous heritage," said Henry Owen-John from English Heritage. Each mile of the 73-mile-long wall costs UKĀ£2,800 a year to maintain.
