Magister Riordan MacGregor, editor of Tournaments Illuminated, has announced the latest Quest Request.
Magister Riordan writes:
Here is the text for the current Quest Request. As you see, the topic is "Hints for Metal-casters". I'd appreciate your assistance in getting this out to any and all appropriate SCA e-lists; please cross-post as appropriate.
Also, if you know someone who has authored related material on any aspect of the art as it is studied or practiced in the Society, and you feel that that the piece would interest TI readers, please consider suggesting that the author submit the item to TI. And feel free to send me links or suggestions.
With warmest thanks, I remain yours in service to Tournaments Illuminated and the Society,
Our upcoming Quest article is "Hints for Metal-casters" with Guest Editor Kirsten O'Brien | Rekon of Saaremaa. *Whether your metal of choice is pewter, brass, silver, or something less usual, experienced metal-casters have learned tricks along the way to make our work easier and safer and our results better. From troubleshooting molds and pieces of equipment that you wouldn't want to do without, to your favorite alloys, techniques, and reference works, your advice can give newer casters inspiration and knowledge that is incredibly valuable. Send your advice (up to 200 words) to firstname.lastname@example.org by May 7th and it may be included in the Third Quarter 2014 issue of Tournaments Illuminated. If you have a picture of your work or setup that you'd like to include, please write the editor for photo specs.
Submission of any work to TI constitutes permission to publish said work without compensation in any form, including but not limited to electronically on a publicly accessible webpage. The author retains all original copyrights to the submission.
