Re-enactors to invade Menorca July 2014

Visitors to Spain's island of Menorca in July 2014 will receive a special treat when an historic re-enactment of the island’s invasion by Catalonian and Aragonese troops in the Middle Ages will take place in the capital's Plaza Conquesta.

The island was originally inhabited mostly by Moors, but the 13th century battle changed the course of its history, bringing it under the control of Spain. The staged re-enactment will take place during the festival of Sant Antoni, July 23 to July 25, 2014, and is expected to be "very colourful and musical."
