Reenactor creates replica of Bayeux Tapestry

A medieval reenactor in England has completed a 2:1 scale replica of the Bayeux Tapestry. The embroidery is 40 feet long and took 18 years to complete.

When Andy Wilkinson started the project, he had no sewing or drawing experience.  He had intended to make the tapestry to decorate his own tent, but it quickly outgrew the space.  Now his reproduction will go on display in Battle Abbey, the site of the Battle of Hastings. [photos]
