The mysterious buildings of Longforth farm

Archaeologists working at Longforth farm near Wellington, England, are puzzled by the discovery of a group of substantial medieval buildings, apparently abandoned between the 12th and 14th centuries.

The buildings featured courtyards and expensive floor and roof tiles, and may have had religious connections, but they have left no trace in historical documents. Experts hope to find out more before the site is turned over to Bloor Homes construction crews at the end of the summer.
