Medieval house found near Conwy Castle in Wales

Workers from Dwr Cymru Welsh Water, digging a trench,  were surprised to find the remains of a medieval house and cesspit beneath Castle Street near Conwy Castle in Wales. The "incredibly important" find could "provide a new insight into medieval Conwy."

Ashley Batten, senior planning archaeologist with the Gwynedd Archaeological Planning Service, believes that the house might have been part of an urban area, predating the Glyndwr revolts. In addition to the house and cesspit, archaeologists have found pottery and the remains of a medieval road.
