[EAL] Murder Melee XXX

Once again we put the MELEE into "Murder Melee" with competitions being organized for every martial activity! We’re organizing competitions in Rapier and Armoured combat, Youth combat, Thrown weapons and Archery! We are extremely excited about our gorgeous new site!

Murder Melee promises to be an event that offers it all: a great site for families and camping, glorious competition in all martial activities, classes in various arts and sciences and, for the fifth year the services of the Dizzy Dragon tavern for various sumptuous needs. Whether you are training for war or simply enjoying the summer season among family & friends, Murder Melee will not disappoint!

        Binbrook Conservation Area, 4110 Harrison Road, Binbrook, ON L0R 1C0

        Site Opens: Thursday, June 6 at 12:00 noon
        Site Closes: Sunday, June 9 at 1:00 pm

IMPORTANT NOTE: You must show your SCA membership (or a pass if a non-member) at the gate to the Conservation Authority or you will be charged their daily rate IN ADDITION to your Site Fees. Please print this pass and bring with you if a non-member.

IF YOU ARE ARRIVING AFTER 8:00 PM: The Conservation Authority will close their main gate at 8:00. If you are arriving after that there will be a combination lock attached to the gate which will allow you to open it, the combination is TBA. Please make sure you close and re-lock the gate after you enter.

Exciting New Features:

        A large swimming beach; (please wear appropriate attire)
        Splash pad play area
        Boat launch and rowboat, paddle boat, canoe or kayak rentals
        Cable-wakeboarding rentals
        Fishing (Per Ontario law, permit required for anyone age 18-65. Catch and release policy is presently in effect for walleye (pickerel), northern pike, and bass)
        Beautiful nature trails

Accommodations:

        The site features plenty of flat, campable, lightly treed land (see site map here)
        Well-behaved and leashed dogs are welcome – you must clean up after your pet!
        There is one tap available near the main activities area with potable water suitable for drinking
        (filtered, chlorinated, and UV treated – tested daily) – please bring your own containers to fill and take to your campsite.
        Fire rings will be available for campfires or outdoor cooking – please no ground fires.
        Please note that there are animals (raccoons etc.) on site, so food should be kept in appropriate containers.
        Flush toilets are available in the main activity area, as well as additional port-a-johns in the main camping area.
        Dumpsters will be available to dispose of your garbage before you leave.
        Site is discretely damp.

Dizzy Dragon Tavern:

Our tavern keepers from last year return once again! The Dizzy Dragon Tavern will be available on SATURDAY ONLY, serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner for all your various sumptuous needs. Menu TBA.

PLEASE NOTE: On Saturday, June 8, from 7:00 am – 2:00 pm there is a Triathlon going on in the park. Please use the Alternate Directions below. There may be slight time delays to allow racers to proceed unhindered.

    From the West:

        Take Highway 403 towards Hamilton.
        Take Exit 61 onto Highway 6 South.
        Turn Left onto Upper James Road.
        Take the 1st right onto White Church Road.
        Turn right onto Trinity Church Road.
        Turn left onto Kirk Road.
        Turn right onto Harrison Road.
        Site is on the right.
       
    Alternate Directions for Saturday:

        Take Highway 403 towards Hamilton.
        Take Exit 61 onto Highway 6 South.
        Turn Left onto Upper James Road.
        Take the 1st right onto White Church Road.
        Turn right onto Tyneside Road.
        Turn left onto Haldibrook Road.
        Turn left onto Harrison Road (road jogs left at Hall Road - Keep straight)
        Site is on the left side.

    From the East or South:

        Take the QEW towards Hamilton.
        Take Exit 88-89 onto Centennial Parkway.
        Continue straight (south) onto Regional Road 56 (Centennial becomes 56).
        Turn right onto Kirk Road.
        Turn left on Harrison Road.
        Site is on the right.
       
    Alternate Directions for Saturday:

        Take the QEW towards Hamilton.
        Take Exit 88-89 onto Centennial Parkway.
        Continue straight (south) onto Regional Road 56 (Centennial becomes 56).
        Turn right on Hall Road 613.
        Turn right on Harrison Road.
        Site is on the left side.
