Heraldic badge found at Scottish battlefield

A heraldic badge showing the Scottish crown has been found at the site of the Battle of Flodden. The badge may have been worn by someone closely affiliated with King James IV.

The badge may have been pinned to a hat. The crown contains gems and a fleur-de-lys, which is consistent with what a Scottish royal badge would have looked like during the time.
