Just a reminder that April 13th and 14th are the costuming workshops with Tasha Kelley. We have plenty of openings for the Saturday workshop, and three openings left for the Sunday workshop. The cost is $20 for Saturday, $25 for Sunday, or $40 for both. Please contact me ASAP if you are interested.
Saturday will be The grande assiette fitting workshop. It will begin with a Charles VI pourpoint lecture, which will include lots of photos and diagrams. When that's finished, folks can take a close-up look of the reproduction Tasha made. After that, we'll move to the grande assiette, wherein Tasha will demo a draping technique for creating a Charles de Blois-style grande assiette sleeve and a drafting technique, using measurements. This comes with a worksheet for future reference. In addition, Tasha invites folks to bring their grande assiette garments and we can do a show-and-tell and troubleshooting for better fit.
Location: Santa Clara University.
Time: 1-4 pm
Sunday will be a small workshop for fitting a bust-supportive dress — the kind that laces up the front and is worn as a basic foundation fashion layer. Tasha will be providing a handout with some pointers for making a dress from the custom bodice block you'll have when we're finished.
Location: Robert and Yseult's house.
Time: 10am to 1pm
