The Heavy Weapons Champion will take the title of Dragon-slayer of Gorgonoth and receive a Viking bench made and donated by Lord Ranulfr Thorfinnsson.
The theme of the day is "Plague Rats on Parade?. We invite you to make your own mini "float" utilizing the plague rat as your theme and join in a Plague Rat Parade. Prizes will be awarded for the best Plague Rat Float and/or Mascot (pets, minions, etc.). Fighting events will be centered on the theme of the Plague Rat. The always popular Plague Rat Melee is a perennial favorite and a great Audience Participation Event. The Heavy Weapons champion will receive the title of Dragon-Slayer of Gorgonoth. We are also considering a tied-together Dragon Team Tournament. We have not yet secured marshalling for Rapier Combat although that is open.
We will have a People's Choice Arts contest. Utilize your favorite medium whether it is needle, word or paint as long as the subject is - yes - the Plague! In addition we have a Thrown Weapons... err rather Thrown Rat Competition so prepare your arms for the flinging of Rats!
Fees: The Park has an entry fee as follows: $3 per adult, $2 per child, and $1 per dog.
Site Fee: Show proof of membership and receive a $5 discount! Gate fee is $8; Members are only $3 with the discount! Children 9 and under are guests of the Canton.
Please note! We are not expecting to have adequate authorized officers for children's events, so all children will need to be under the supervision of their parent or guardian at all times. Unfortunately due to additional costs and licensing issues we will not be able to offer a donational lunch or merchants. Also, this is a dry site. Pets are allowed on site, given that they are on-leash and owners are responsible as to messes.
Additional Information The site opens at 8:00 am with Court beginning at 10:00 am. The day's events will begin shortly after court. The site closes at 5:00 pm.
