Could Winchester bones be Alfred the Great?

Archaeologists have exhumed the remains from an unmarked grave at St Bartholomew's Church in Winchester, England, hoping they have found the bones of the Saxon king Alfred the Great who died in 899.

Legend says that the bones of the king were moved from Hyde Abbey in the 19th Century and reburied in an unmarked grave in Winchester. Experts hope that will prove to be the case. Examination of the remains has yet to be scheduled.
