The remains of three medieval Grand Masters of the Teutonic Knights, unearthed in Poland in 2007, have been identified. The men were named Werner von Orseln, Ludolf Koenig, and Heinrich von Plauen.
Orseln and Koenig both lived in the mid-1300s, while Plauen was alive in the early 1400s. They were buried in a crypt under a cathedral.
Along with skeletons the graves contained silk and jewelery.
