Local Council Finds Roman Wall in Family's Backyard

A Saxon burial urn and a Roman wall have been found in a Buckinghamshire garden. Archaeologists have known that the Taylor home in Otford is built on a Saxon burial site, but they never expected to find much earlier remains. On Friday, November 8, 2002, excavators discovered Roman artifacts including an entire Roman wall as well as a Saxon burial urn from a later time period. The plan is now to excavate the garden carefully for both Roman and Saxon artifacts.
