Among the items recovered was one of the country's oldest manuscripts, a medical book written by Arab physician, Mohammed bin Zakaraia Al-Razi, dated 1012 CE. The 464 items, mostly books, were discovered when an auction house became suspicious about the haul. England plans to return the antiques to their rightful owners in Iraq.

Scotland Yard was on the job in London when they recovered a stash of rare antiquities stolen from Iraq in 1995.
