Who's Afraid of Beowulf?

13-15 August

The days of summer dawn clear and warm, and the dreaded monster Grendel has dragged himself from the murky depths intent on laying waste to our fair shire once again! He has stolen our Axe of Might, which is the very heart of Hrafnsfjörðr's power. We call on all brave warriors in Oertha and plead for their aid in slaying this fearsome beast. Whoever shall land the killing blow and take back our Axe shall be named Defender of Hrafnsfjörðr for the year.

Activities include the heavy tourney, rapier battles, archery championship, best pre-tourney boast competition, funeral pyre for fallen warriors, classes/discussion group on all things Viking, a children's area (parental supervision required), a bardic to rock Valhalla, and more.

As this event is being held on our property, there are no campsites per se, and no fire pits are available; however, there is room for many pavilions/tents. There is no potable water on site, so bring what you need for the weekend. There will be no feast provided, but group dining is encouraged. Expect camping to be fairly rough- bring your air mattresses and your bug dope (we are right next to a lake!).
