A new 11-minute video from Hampton Court Palaces provides details of the behind-the-scenes construction of the replica crown worn by Henry VIII.
Commentary about the documentation for the crown, its construction and the jewels are all contained in this video. An interesting tidbit is that when Henry proclaimed himself head of the church in England, he had the three tiny images of Christ (which were on the crown) removed and replaced by three images of earlier kings. Construction of the replica crown was carried out by Harry Collins, Crown Jeweller, and his team.
There is a shorter two-minute introductory video available, but it does not include the details on construction. Both videos are on the same web page.
