Medieval skills preserved in the Barony of Northkeep

“The opportunity for us to put on our medieval clothing, cook and serve the recipes we’ve been researching, dance the dances we’ve been practicing, socialize, and generally have a good time. SCA events take place almost every weekend of the year,” said Shirley Hackworth about activities in the SCA.

The answer came in response to questions from staff writer Kolby Paxton of the Tahlequah (Oklahoma) Daily Press who spoke with Hackworth, known in the SCA as Lady Sicily Bridges. Paxton learned about armored combat in the SCA, but also about the arts and sciences, costuming, heraldry and dancing.
