A 1990 performance of Inherit the Wind, marking co-author Jerome Lawrence's 75th birthday, was disturbed by noise from a nearby SCA fighter practice. "Jerry was hard of hearing and heard 'creationists' when he was told that the noise was 'Society for Creative Anachronists,'" said Alan Woods, director of the Jerome Lawrence and Robert E. Lee Theatre Research Institute at Ohio State University. "He was delighted, and told the story for several years afterwards."
