Queen's jewelery found in medieval toilet

Archaeologists excavating a latrine at the site of a palace outside of Paris, France have found a hair pin belinging to 16th century French queen Catherine de Medici.

The gold pin has her sigil of two interlocking Cs and may also have traces of green and white, which were her colors.

Researches are puzzled by its presence, as the pin was found in a communal toilet that would not be used by royalty.
