Rabbits Threaten Viking Site

"What? Behind the rabbit?" "It is the rabbit! It's got nasty, sharp, pointy teeth!" A two-acre site in South Uist (Scotland) that once contained a Viking village is threatened by destructive rabbits.

Rabbits may be cute and innocent-looking, but their destructive rodentine habits are threatening the site where twenty Viking houses formed a village dating back to the tenth or eleventh century CE. Archaeologists say the site is significant because of its size and evident prosperity.
