[EAS] Carolingia Baronial Investiture

Please join us for a day of celebration in honor of our new Baron and Baroness, Fergus and Imigla (formerly Vairavi).

While the highlight of the day will be the Investiture of the new Baron and Baroness, we have a wide range of activities planned, so there should be something for everyone to do. There will be martial activities, including a heavy War Practice, fencing, archery, and thrown weapons. There will be dancing. There will be performances. There will be an A&S competition. And of course, there will be food, including a fabulous German-style feast prepared by Lady Safiya Shirazi.

As the site is a German Cultural center, they will have a cash bar with German beer open throughout the day. No other alcohol is permitted.  We cordially invite all citizens of our Barony as well as our neighbors and friends from around the Kingdom to join us for this celebration.

The plan is to have the Investiture itself take place in the morning following the Last Court of the current Baron, Jehan du Lac. A full day of activities will follow, with the feast in the evening.

As winter gives way to Spring, the thoughts of the Kingdom turn toward War, and our Warlord, Master Feral von Halstern would like to take the opportunity to run a War Practice at this event, which will be hosted by Sir Aonghus de Bruce . We have fields and woods available throughout the day for use by fighters and fencers, and we will be running a range of melee scenarios to demonstrate our fighting prowess and hone our combat skills.  Additionally, archery and thrown weapons ranges will be running, with various competitions available for participants of all levels.

We will have indoor space for Western dance during the day, as well as for an A&S display / competition.  More details on these will be provided as the event draws nearer.

If you are a musician, storyteller, or performer, we will have a performance stage available throughout the day for you to entertain the populace. Please contact the Autocrat to reserve a time to perform.

Merchants are welcome and encouraged to attend.  There is no charge beyond the gate fee to sell your wares at the event, but merchants must contact the autocrat ahead of time to reserve a space.

Please note that all activities except archery and thrown weapons will take place rain or shine, as there is a large covered pavilion available for fighting and fencing in the event of bad weather.
