Skeletons halt resurfacing of Scottish road

Authorities have halted resurfacing work around Greyfriars Garden in St. Andrews, Scotland after the discovery of skeletons believed to be Franciscan monks from the 15th century.

"The exact footprint of the friary is not known and previous archaeological works in the area have failed to locate it. However, there can be little doubt that the discovery represents part of the cemetery of the friary," said archaeologist Douglas Spiers.
