Horseback archery encouraged at British mosque

One of the last things one might expect to find at a mosque would be archery practice, but for members of Woking, England's Shah Jahan Mosque, archery is not only tolerated, but encouraged.

Weekly archery classes are taught at the mosque, with riding lessons available at a nearby stable for those wishing to participate in horseback archery. "Archery is one of those sports that the Prophet Muhammad specifically recommended that we do, likewise horse riding, and it also helps you to overcome certain fears as well," said Coach Jehad Shamis, an international horseback archery competitor.
