Artifacts found at site of Roman fort in Scotland

A team of archaeologists, supervising the installation of a water main through the site of a Roman fort near Kirkton, Scotland, has discovered a cobbled roads and artifacts dating to Roman times.

The artifacts found at the site of the Carzield Roman Fort included Roman tiles, clay fragments and pieces of cast iron metalwork. These pieces are being studied and carbon dated. The water mains have now been completed without damage to the sensitive archaeological sites.
