The dogs of war are howling!! Grab your shields, your weapons, your horses and your armor for three days of fighting hosted by the Barony of SunDragon!
Mark your calendars for February 10-12, 2012 for Mixed Weapons War! The Barony of SunDragon will host three days of fighting, archery and equestrian at Bumblebee Ranch to include as many Estrella War scenarios as possible. Queen's Equestrian Champion will take place. Please contact Lady Angeline de Gibraltar for information on equestrian activities.
Bring your needles, thread and scissors for Combat Stitchery! This year's theme will be coifs. The coifs made during the event will be given to our warriors. Impromptu classes will be held in the pavilion all weekend. If you would like a specific class taught, please contact the event stewards.
There will also be a Queen's Artisans Showcase with prizes for Queen's Choice, Laurel's Choice and Populace choice. Please honor Her Majesty by bringing your projects for display! Your projects do not need to be complete and all forms and lengths of documentation are welcome, including no documentation. This is a wonderful opportunity to showcase your work and get feedback on your work from Her Majesty, the Laurels and your fellow artisans.
Mistress Brenna's soup kitchen will not be held. However, SunDragon is organizing a Courtesy Corps to provide nourishment and water to the fighters. If you would like to donate finger foods (pickles, olives, fruit, dried meats, nuts, water, vitamin water, power drinks, etc), please bring it to the event. We'll have a Courtesy Corps area near troll where donations can be dropped off.
On Saturday evening, we're having our Mixed Weapons potluck. If you would like to participate, please bring enough for 6-8 people. The list below is by your mundane last name:
A-I - salads & sides
J-M - breads & spreads
N-T - main dishes
U-Z - desserts
A Bardic competition will be held during the potluck. The theme is anything pertaining to WAR.
House Manor Rose will be hosting its traditional Mixed Weapons War pancake breakfast on Sunday morning. A hot dog lunch will be provided on Sunday afternoon.
The site opens at noon on Friday, February 10th.
Adult members: $12 if camping all weekend, $7 for day trip
Youth (ages 16 and 17) members: $8 if camping, $5 for day trip
Non-member youth and adult: additional $5
Children (ages 15 and younger): free
The parking fee is the same as last year: $7 per vehicle for camping, $5 per vehicle for a day trip. Parking must be paid with cash or check this year. Just like last year, each adult must sign the Ranch waiver, whether camping or day tripping.
Restroom facilities are available on site. There are a few full-hookup RV sites available. The fee must be paid directly to the Ranch manager
The weather is expected to be cold at night. If you are camping, please plan appropriately. Fires are allowed if above ground with a heat shield. Please bring your own firewood.
