Medieval Scotland can be closer than you think...in New York, for instance. A home inspired by a 13th century Scottish castle is up for sale in New City, New York, just an hour north of Manhattan.
The original owner and builder was a lawyer inspired by a trip to Scotland. It is believed that the house was based on a castle built in 1229, but it is not known exactly which one or where.
The daughter of the most recent owner says the home is not just medieval in appearance; modern electrcity, heating, and plumbing were only just recently added.
