Lord Mungo Napier reports that all 37 of the reproduction Stirling Heads, from Stirling Castle in Scotland, are available as full colour images on the Stirling Castle website.
The brightly-painted faces depict Scottush courtiers, mythological figures and Roman emperors. Originally, the carved, oak heads were adornments for the castle, but were damaged by time and fire. The reproductions were copied from period sketches.
The website allows visitors to zoom in on the heads to study the details.
