In defense of Greek historical forts

”The identity of modern Greece,” said Minister Pavlos Geroulanos in a recent speech, ”is seen by the way in which it manages its enormous cultural heritage, the way in which it protects it and with which it spreads knowledge of it to every corner of the globe.”

The speech was given at Defensive Architecture in the Peloponnese, an international conference sponsored by the 25th Superintendence of Byzantine Antiquities in collaboration with the Patras Architects University, to address the detereoration of Byzantine and Venetian fortresses in the country.
