14th century Ottoman conqueror found at Perperikon

Discoveries continue to be unearthed at the Perperikon archaeological site in Bulgaria. The latest is the tomb of a 14th century Ottoman conqueror.

Archaeologist Professor Nikolai Ovcharov thinks that the skeleton found in the tomb, buried in accordance to Muslim law, is that of Izrail who "led to a force of 300 soldiers to the site, then one of the most powerful fortresses in Bulgaria's Rhodope Mountains."
