Royal manuscript collection "debunks myth of the Dark Ages"

The world's largest collection of beautifully-illuminated British royal manuscripts from the 9th through 16th centuries will be on display this winter at the British Museum.

"The vibrant colours have been preserved despite the passing of time and 'will debunk the myth that these were the Dark Ages,' according to the exhibition's curator, Dr Scot McKendrick." Books to be displayed include The Cauchon Hours, The Shrewsbury Book, a 14th century scroll depicting a royal family tree, and Henry VIII's velvet-bound Psalter.
