Fake 'gladiators' outside Roman sites run afoul of local authorities

Re-enacting can be a lot of fun, but it can also be lucrative if you happen to live near the Colosseum or other prominent Roman tourist attractions. Unfortunately, not all of the costumed characters are upstanding in their dealings.

According to the Guardian article, "For the first time perhaps since the fall of the Roman empire, a group of centurions faces prosecution for mounting an assault on brother officers just a few paces from the Forum" as "Italian undercover police clamp down on fake centurions who prey on tourists visiting the sites of ancient Rome".
