Welsh castle receives grant for visitor center

In 1282, Earl Henry de Lacy began building a castle in Wales. Now Denbigh Castle will undergo an extensive facelift, complete with a new visitor center, thanks to a UK£600,000 grant. (photo)

Plans for the project include wall reconstruction, to open up the mostly intact castle and town walls to walkers, guided tours, and a better historical presentation for visitors. The castle will be closed until next year for the renovations.
