History Channel Teams with Game Designer Re-create Roman Battles

Gamespot: The History Channel plans to work with game producer Creative Assembly to re-create famous Roman battles. The History Channel has signed an agreement with game designer Creative Assembly to re-create famous Roman battles for the cable channel's new series "Decisive Battles." Creative Assembly will be using software from its game "Rome: Total War," which was also used in a recent BBC series. That show, "Time Commanders," let gamers command legions generated by "Rome: Total War."

"Decisive Battles" is a 13-episode series that will debut July 17, 2004. Creative Assembly's "Rome: Total War" was an award-winner at last year's Electronic Entertainment Expo, and is scheduled for release by Activision in the fall.
