The honourable Canton of Humalasalo offers you once more a wonderful opportunity to participate in an Aarnimetsän tent camp.
During this 10 day event you have a lot of activities to choose from: there are heavy fighting tourneys, three days of war, fencing, archery, arts and sciences lectures and competitions, dancing, games... And, of course, you get to enjoy the Finnish summer, sauna and socializing around the fire!
The event site is the same as during the previous years, Kavalahti scout camp in Inkoo, southern Finland. The site is located on the coast between Helsinki and Turku, about an hours' drive from Helsinki, 1.5 hrs from Turku. The nearest bus stop and train station are also close by.
The event is primarily a camping event, but there are some beds in the main building and the three cabins. People flying in and those staying for a longer time have precedence, when beds are allocated.
Kavalahti is unfortunately not suitable for people with limited mobility.
Unheated indoor space for hundred is available for activities if weather becomes less than optimal, and there are several saunas to warm up in. The site has it's own drill well where the water is both potable and actually quite good. There are several water taps spread all over the site. The big sauna building has running hot water and showers, the smaller wood-heated sauna has a more traditional water-heating system with a cauldron for hot water and buckets for cold. The site toilets are dry toilets (outhouses), but have handwashing facilities (with cold water).
Three meals are available daily: plentiful breakfast, a light lunch in the afternoon and hot evening meal (except when replaced by a feast). There's a smaller mid-week feast on Wednesday and a grand feast on the latter Saturday (July 17). Those who prefer to cook their own meals are allowed to use the kitchens in the main building and the sauna building. Due to kitchen and staff capacity limitations, we are able to offer daily meals and midweek feast to 80 people and grand feast for 100 only, so book early! We are able to accommodate only some common diets.
For more information go to the event website.
Registration is open! Reservations should be made via the event web site before 1st of July.
