Vesper Principal Herald, Mistress Moira O'Conner, and Baldric Herald, Her Grace Eilis, will be coming to our fair Principality on May 14 and 15 to teach a series of classes on the following topics:
How to be a heraldic officer, Field and duty heraldry, How to run heralds at a tourney, Court heraldry, How to submit court reports, Basic consulting, Basic heraldic design, Basic name research, Basic blazon and conflict research.
Everyone is welcome to come and take advantage of this excellent educational opportunity. All heralds and prospective heralds are highly encouraged to attend.
Site information: The Saturday classes will be held at the Mat-Su Community College (8295 East College Dr., Palmer, AK 99645), Sunday's smaller classes will be held the Project Management School @ UAA (University Center, Room 155, 3901 Old Seward Highway, Anchorage, AK 99503-6089, in the University Center). Site opens at 10 AM and closes at 4 PM. Site fees for both days, $10 for members, $15 for non-members, $5 for children 5-12, under 5's are free. Site fee for a single day is $7 for members, $12 for non-members, and $2 for children 5-12. Please make checks payable to "SCA, Inc.-Principality of Oertha". For Saturday: Take your best route to the Parks Highway. Take the Trunk Road Exit. Follow Trunk Rd to College Rd. Take a right on College Rd. We are in the FSM Building (the building with the orange trim). There will be signs.
For Sunday: Take your best route to New Seward Highway and Northern Lights Boulevard. Turn southbound on New Seward until you reach the intersection with 36th Ave (the second light). Turn right on 36th Ave. Travel one block to Old Seward Highway and turn left. Travel two and a half blocks to the light at 40th Ave and turn left. The project management school on your left as you drive into the parking lot. There will be signs.
