[AET] Tournaments Thru the Ages

To horse, to horse! Riders of AEthelmearc ready your steeds! The time is upon us once again for the Kingdom Equestrian Championships to be held at the Tournaments Thru The Ages event.

So heed the call to ready your destriers and palfreys for the Kingdom Equestrian Championship. A grand tournament has been devised to test your skills. So get your barding and banners ready for the pageantry of the day. Come one and all and join Their Majesties to witness the pageantry of the kingdom's equestrians as they compete against one another in games of skill and chance. The gallery will be open to the populace to cheer on their favorite rider and mount. This equestrian tourney and other activities will be held in the Albion Borough Park in Albion, PA (no street address), on Saturday, June 18, 2011. This is a DRY site. The site will open for the populace at 9:00 a.m. and close at 8:00 p.m. and is sponsored by the Shire of Stormsport.

There will be a tourney for heavy weapons fighters and an A&S competition for those who prefer the gentler arts (details for these activities will be announced as they are finalized).? There is a large playground available for children to enjoy. Children need to be under adult supervision while playing in this area. There is also space near the equestrian list field for pavilions and sun shelters.

A day board of culinary delights will be prepared by Lady Ottilige von Rappoltsweiler who will be assisted by Mistress Judith of Kirkland. For any food allergies or concerns please contact Lady Ottilig at traciewhitney@yahoo.com.

The site fees for this event are $10 for adults, $5 for children 6-17, children 5 and under are free. The day board is included in your site fee. Checks should be made out to: "SCA, Inc., Shire of Stormsport". There will be a $5 NMS fee for non-members and those members who forget their membership cards. The Equestrian Marshal in Charge is Eachmharcach an Fhasaigh and she can be contacted at rsrhiannon@yahoo.com. Please contact her by June 11, 2011, if you are bringing horses to this event. Special arrangements can be made for equestrians who would like to arrive on Friday, the night before the event and leave on Sunday. The EqMIC must be notified if anyone would like to do this so that arrangements can be planned. There will be no equestrian authorization conducted at this event. Please be aware of the following requirements for paperwork to accompany your horse/s. The State of Pennsylvania requires that horses coming from outside of the state have a Health Certificate issued by a veterinarian within the past 30 days and a current negative Coggins test within the past 12 months. For those horses residing within the State of Pennsylvania, only a current negative Coggins test within the past 12 months is required by the Albion Borough Park Board.

DIRECTIONS:

>From Erie and points North & East take Interstate 90 to exit for Rt 18 South. At the exit turn left onto Rt 18 South heading South until it intersects with with Rt 6N. At the stop sign turn right on Rt 6N, into Albion. At the traffic light (there is only one in town), go straight continuing West on Rt 6N, take the first street to the right which is Academy St. (there is a street sign for BOROUGH PARK), at the stop sign go straight and you will be entering the park, where the street Ts take a left onto Lisek Circle, and as you proceed you see the field for parking.

>From the South or Interstate 79, exit at Rt 6N (exit #166), turn left onto Rt 6N heading West to Albion. Once in Albion, at the traffic light (there is only one in town), go straight continuing West on Rt 6N, take the first street to the right which is Academy St. (there is a street sign for BOROUGH PARK), at the stop sign go straight and you will be entering the park, where the street Ts take a left onto Lisek Circle, and as you proceed you see the field for parking.

>From the West take Interstate 90 to PA exit 3, turn right and take Rt 6N for 8 miles to Albion. Once you enter the Borough limits, it is about 2 miles to where you will turn left onto Academy St., at the stop sign go straight and you will be entering the park, where the street Ts take a left onto Lisek Circle, and as you proceed you see the field for parking.
