After a brief hiatus from our shire, do the Baronies of Delftwood and Endless Hills of AEthelmearc and the Barony of Concordia of the Snows of the East Kingdom return to the Shire of Sterlynge Vayle for Barony Wars and Bazaar V.
The event will open at 3:00 pm on Friday, June 10, 2011 and close promptly at noon on Sunday, June 12, 2011. All those remaining will be ...indentured for site restoration. This event will be held at Camp Sertoma, Johnson Road (no number), in Windsor, NY. We look forward to seeing many new and returning friends to our backyard for this festive gathering.
These 3 Baronies and their allies will be competing in many areas for war points to determine the victor of this year's banner and prize chest. Sterlynge Vayle will provide the banner and will donate the chest, but the Baronies must fill it with goods they wish to wager against the other Baronies. In negotiation with the Baronies we have heard talk that they might be looking for aid in the competition this year. Who knows what form that will take . . . The schedule of martial activities and just what the war points might be are . . . still under negotiation.
On Friday evening, just to get the weekend rolling, there will be a night shoot for the archers among us and a torchlight prize tournament for our heavy fighters. Bards, both musicians and storytellers, are encouraged to grace the main hall on Friday evening to begin the weekend on a festive note. A traveler's fare of Curry in the style of Japan, with grilled chicken will be offered for $4.
As Saturday's Competition comes to a close a feast is planned to fill the hall with the spirit of camaraderie. Laird Perote Gormal Campbell of the East, has committed to produce dishes sure to tempt the palate and sate the hunger of all in attendance (yes even vegetarians). If you have any dietary concerns he can be reached at email@example.com. Please note that seats are limited and advanced reservations are highly recommended.
Site fee, including Saturday's day board, is $10.00 for adults, $8.00 for minors (13-17), $5.00 for children (5-12), and free for those 4 and under. The site is our traditional Bards and Bows site and it has a few differences from the previous site. Parking WILL BE AN ISSUE, so we encourage you to carpool if possible. For accommodations there is a dormitory style bunk house for $6.00 per night per bed. There are also a few unheated cabins with no bedding that are available - please let the autocrat know early if you wish to reserve one of these. There are numerous places around the pond to pitch a tent, and there is room in the main hall for those wishing to bring their bedding and crash on the floor at no charge. We plan a fire and revelry in the main hall so be prepared. The site is discretely damp and please police your empties. Cell phone reception may be uncertain.
